Untold Stories...
Introduction
After a single thought, I feel like leaving a trace of myself. The idea that this world is plunging into decay weighs heavily. Yet we once lived in a marvelous realm, full of hopes and inspirations.
ЗI’ll touch upon forbidden topics too, though not everyone living in that world will understand what I mean. You, reader, you’re here, and I’m glad about that. I can’t quite describe why I’m grateful, but in this moment, a hundred reasons for this small gratitude come to mind.
As you’ve noticed, I’m not the Author… and my story hasn’t begun yet.
Who am I? Don’t ask.
What am I...
How can I tell you who I am without giving away spoilers? Fine; I’ll try!
Turns on some lo-fi for storytelling vibes—maybe you should too.
I’m a guest from another world, a dreamer, a fantasist.
Don’t be surprised by the oddities. And a child—who spent their childhood among the stars.
I didn’t want to fade into emptiness. I met you—or rather, this roundish patch of Earth where so many wonderful achievements have taken place:
The conquest of neural interfaces on retro-futuristic, tape-driven machines.
It was amusing to witness.
The unification of your world under shared dreams of interstellar travel. You even visited a barren, lifeless neighboring world together.
A century has passed since you stopped voyaging, though you still dream of the alluring universe.
Countless tales were written: fables, bedtime stories, comedies, epics, poems, dramas, tragedies…
Don’t be alarmed that I’m an alien. You’ve already encountered me in the stories and notes you’ve come across. Many experiments—some chaotic, now remembered fondly. Many legends about werewolves, mythical creatures, and other paranormal tales.
That was all me. And that too, yes
These stories, sometimes frightening, often began with me. People were terrified, but no one was ever harmed by my claws or fangs. You’re more comfortable imagining me as a werewolf—or a scientist with a touch of villainy. A creature,
but not a monster.
Where I was born...
I don’t know.
It’s not a spoiler; it doesn’t hurt not to know, but it’s sad to understand:
Whether abandoned, or the last of my kind,
Or maybe a colonist who’s forgotten their purpose and master.
Culture and Traditions…
I have none.
...A creature born of science.
I always thought I was a child of science—until I realized something curious:
You invented belief and denial of the heavens, gratitude and wrath toward them.
As it turns out, this is a rather delightful way to accomplish righteous deeds.
Smiles sadly…
As for traditions—ah… my own, sadly, I have no one to share them with.
But I’ve been living among you for centuries now.
I remember the splendid feasts with queens and emperors.
Oh, that’s a spoiler!
Magic…
I don’t like calling science “magic.”
With magic, you’re a god.
And I’ve never met an immortal god.
And science? It’s not about why…
It’s about why not!
Why not plant a seed of my world in everyone’s heart?
I truly hope you’ve already understood what I mean.
Legends…
Probably my favorite part, full of spoilers.
I am the observer who was noticed.
But never seen.
My Appearance...
Should I reveal what is ever-changing? I, unfortunately, don’t know how I appear in your eyes.
To some, I’m a wolf.
To others, a human.
To a few, a monster.
To my enemies, I became a foe.
To some, I emerged from a fairy tale:
A dragon,
A wolf,
A bear,
A mouse,
A hamster,
A shoryok,
A Jabberwocky,
A werewolf,
A beast,
A scientist.
...Or no one at all.
...Many don’t see me and are afraid.
...Even more have forgotten.
It saddens and burdens me to see your world so forgetful…
